Gammage Flowers purchases it's poinsettias from local growers and as a result we have healthy and large plants to offer our customers. The poinsettia was first grown commercially in 1828 so it should come as no surprise that it is a floral Christmas tradition. Poinsettias are wonderful gift to send. There is no worry that the recipient may already have one, since poinsettias are merrier with more! An arrangement of poinsettia plants is a gorgeous decoration for the holidays.
Poinsettias are easy to care for, they need warmth; bright, indirect sunlight;and moderately moist-to-the-touch soil. Let the soil dry out before re watering.
Many people do not know that once the holiday is over, you can continue to care for your poinsettia. It will continue to thrive through the winter with proper care. In the spring, plant your poinsettia in your garden and it will grow full and green.
